I heard that carrots could be beneficial for losing weight. Is it true that they help in the elimination of excess fat from the body?

1. Roasted or stewed carrots
2. Beans ( for healthy gut bacteria)
3. Chili peppers (stimulate tastebuds)
4. Mushrooms ( lowers inflammation) eat both the stem and the cap

i find carrots are best when you fry them after slicing them thin.  and dont throw away the oils that the carrots release. use them or let them soak back into the carrots when you are done cooking them.     but for real try fried carrots its amazing how different they taste

When I cook beans or any type of legume actually I always add 2 bay leaves along with tomatoes, fresh or juice, onions, carrots and celery with olive oil of course.

Peace and greetings Dr. William Li  . So far you're the best MD . Am retired Nurse class 77' from Philippines  and worked here Saudi Arabia since 1980. So I experienced the best of both worlds. In general where our dietary regimen is more of Mideteranean . Lots of fruits vegetables ,legumes ,all kinds of nuts , coffee and tea lovers since alcohol is strictly prohibited , tobacco as well. It's not all about food. Connecting to the Divine Creator, constantly seeking forgiveness and express gratitude for  all the bountiful blessings   which is of our existence primarily is tantamount to spiritual upliftmen thereby your taking  care of your body and the soul. Asking the Divine Creator who created the heavens, earth ,everything in between including the whole universe ✨️   will ultimately lead you to life filled with happiness and stress free life.. You deserve a lifetime award in the highest level for guiding humanity in a positive approach toxic free body   Am spreading and sharing your God given talent to all esp. to friends with in ongling cancer . Btw stage 1 till stage 4 cancer has the same manifestations and treatable.  No animal protein in your diet just plant base fresh produce will definitely eliminate those nasty cancer cells. The darker color, bitter, sour and pungent foods would do a great deal of terminating cancer calls life. If you're on a chemotherapy follow it religiously cause we have only one precious life Almighty God glory to be give us so it is everyone's responsibility to take care of your health.. Hi Dr.Williams Question for you…  I have a few strange food sensitives that give me so much intense pain & bloating in the upper middle section of my abdomen that starts right under my breasts to just below my ribs if I eat broccoli, mushrooms, pineapple & muscles all 4 of those foods make me really sick. The pain & sever bloating lasts a few hours & sometime for up to 6 hours. Do have any insight on why this would happen with these particular foods ?

Your information besides being simple but to the point AND logical…..I thoroughly ENJOYED what you had to say and hence I am NOW a subscriber!
I DO NOT take ANY prescriptions since 2010…no vaccines (my choice) my health is dependent on CLEAN FOOD … as much as humanly possible…
I just want to tell you I think you’re awesome! I have siblings who think I’m wacko because I don’t go to mainstream drs again my choice…Happy in Arizona! Thank you!!!!

Here in Brazil, where beans are a staple food, what families usually do is cook beans in a pressure cooker and leave it unseasoned in the refrigerator. Then, when it's close to lunch or dinner time, the person cooking will sauté some onion, garlic and whatever else you might want to put in your beans, cook it for a few minutes, adjust seasoning, and you'll have fresh tasting beans (Brazilian style) in just a few minutes. Since Brazilians eat beans every day, it won't be sitting for too long in the refrigerator.

Are you serious beans come on I hate beans I started to eat beans a little rice beans I Weigh 120 I went up to 137 gave up that stuff just eat meat now I'm back to 120 meat and a lot of fats I stay away from carbohydrates and sugar and other processed foods it turned my world around I'm 120 again and I feel amazing and I look much better people think I look great for my age which is 73 also I don't eat plants just meat fats animal products they don't have any oxalates in them like plants do and makes me feel amazing people are commenting on how good I look and how much energy I have while everybody else has fallen apart cuz they eat a lot of sugar a lot of carbs they actually the sad American diet so-called healthy food like plants which have a lot of oxalates no wonder people have so much arthritis and blood sugar problems

IN THE SPANISH CARIBBEAN ISLANDS -CUBA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC & PUERTO RICO WE COOK THEM SIMILAR. THE OLD FASHION WAY WITHOUT THE PRESSURE COOKER IS TO SOAK THEM OVERNIGHT IN WATER & SALT, NEXT DAY THROWS THE WATER AWAY AND START COOKING THEM.
IN THE MEANTIME MAKE THE SOFRITO-  SAUTE GARLIC, ONIONS, SMALL PEPPERS, ALONG WITH CILANTRO, CORIANDER & ORÉGANO AND ADD IT TO THE BEANS WHILE THEY COOK AT MEDIUM HEAT.  MANY TIMES ALONG WITH PIECES OF PUMPKIN WHICH GIVE BEANS A SPECIAL FLAVOR.
AND VOILÁ, BON APETITE!

Thank you Dr li I have found it very difficult to loose weight  i am young 60 year old ,I found you on you tube I folowed your advice  I found doing the stopping eating after 7 30 or 8 in the evening  eating again at 12 noon bowl of stawberries kiwi Black currents cherries and an Apple  The evening meal salad with Good Quality  Olive oil Dijon mustard ,Apple cider ,littlle maple syrup ,Delicious

That's great. Also all the people don't know that potatoes change when they become refrigerated. So if you want to lose fat , but need a Carbohydrate Cold potato soup is perfect. There is less starch in a cold potato than there is in a freshly baked one.

Resistant starch.  I think reheating cold potato is also good.  Once the starch becomes resistant starch, it does not change back because insoluble fiber is created.

I eat  organic purple, orange and white carrots. I slice them into thin strips and air fry them with olive oil, salt and sugar free pancake syrup. Tastes like sweet fries, very yummy!  I air fry mushrooms too with olive oil, salt, black pepper,  garlic powder & onion powder.

I have been looking for alternatives to potato chips- love this carrot idea! I cook my mushrooms often in the air fryer like that too. So easy!

Just discovered Dr William Li and am very tickled with my discovery. Last August after my doctor said I’d not have to worry about retirement if I didn’t lose weight, and change my diet, I took action. She wanted to put me on a statin med as I was basically an animated stick of butter with hair on top. Lipid panel was out of range BMI confirmed what I looked like: A fluffy little senior lady. So I changed lifestyle and diet to nearly vegan, sugar free and very low fat. I love continuing education of healthy eating and life choices. I happen to really enjoy the foods mentioned in this post. Ok, not the fermented stuff. My health has really improved and I’d love to have a new career in my retirement years s a health educator…Blue Zone style.
