Thank you again Dr. Huberman. I am so excited to see the answers to the questions you raised in this ep unfold over future episodes. Your podcasts have inspired me further to study neuroscience from the basics up but already using whatever I learn to spread knowledge and tools that help people live better, in both Arabic and English and find there is so much thirst for knowledge especially among the young but even older people albeit in different ways. Keep up the great work

Ubermensch/Uberman is exactly what I think of Andrew Huberman. And I love your neuroscientific humor.

About paralysis during sleep... I had one or two occasions where I woke up and was just that. I couldn't even think of anything. SCARY feeling. It went away in a matter of seconds but it felt like ... idk... the phrase: do not look into the abyss, etc... that is the best word for it: abyss. Dark, hollow, unable to move almost, unable to think almost... The strangest part was, I turned around and fell asleep again.
That was months after a bad experience with soft drugs (where I would suddenly wake up at night to rush out of my bed and stand in the middle of my room trying to figure out what I just did.)
It was a bad experience that was so frightening for me that my brain got so ever winded it alerted my body or something I think.
At least, that's how I think about it now, while watching the later part of this podcast. (softdrugs: concentrated Kanna that you had to sniff, salty as f**k. Haven't touched anything ever since...)

Thank you for much for this episode!
Not having father figure or mentor in life has been hard as guy hitting early 30s and having role model like Andrew Huberman in the internet is highly valuable.

so thank you

Mr. Huberman,
If you read this, we need your help!  Can you please do an episode about male vs female in terms of learning and education? I am on day 2 of student teaching, and these boys need help.  They are restless and checked out, and none of the teachers seem to care.  How do their brains work the same vs differently? Kinesthetically, what are their different demands? Or would you be able to point me in the direction of good research on this?
Thank you so much for all you do!
A worried future teacher

This is good and indeed it touches on fundamentals on the topic. Watched it all for 30'+ without having to stop mid episode.  Thank you for listening to the people

Wow sir! I just want to say you are an inspiration and to keep up the amazing work! Just seeing how much of a change there is in your face compared to then shows you have been working hard to take care of yourself. I get discouraged that I'll never get there but noticing that about you is an encouragement to me.

Thanks for doing this—it's a fantastic contribution! Finding time to listen to all the two-hour videos was challenging, so this half-hour is the ideal size.

Nice haircut! ❤. Also have you interviewed anyone about grief?  I’m a widow and I think doing pretty good, but I still have moments of rage. I was in my late 40’s w/ two teens.  Like my life was just wiped out but I kept going thank you!

He didn't get a haircut, lol. This is a clip made from his first episode, 3 years ago!

@ creepy that you know his hairstyles so well

lol. I wasn't the one commenting on his haircut, you were. I just knew this is made from editing the very first episode of the channel.

Thank you very much. I've found the podcast few months ago so it is a great way to get introduce to the wealth of informations of past episodes. Which is why I think a link to the full length episode in the show notes caption would be greatly appreciated to dig deeper if any condensed versions spark a greater interest. For now I am fully aware it's easy to find it but maybe not so much in the future.

Unbelieveably interesting video! Information that are included there are on the one hand the basics of how our nervous system works, but also on the other hand those are the basics that most of us are unaware of, but can be used as a powerful tool to optimize our everyday activities! As a cognitive science student, I'm grateful for your interest in science and the amount of knowledge you spread out for us <3
